Lady Jacqueline B. Small

Evangelist Jacqueline B. Small is the eldest of eleven children of the late Mother Margaret Boston and Curtis Kinnemore, and the granddaughter of the late Samuel and Helen Tisdell Brown. A 1971 graduate of Sophronia M. Tompkins High School, she earned her Child Care Development Associate Certificate from Savannah Technical School (2001) and a B.S. in Sociology from Savannah State University (2007). In 2012, she pursued her Master’s Degree in Bible at Covington Theological Seminary. On May 24, 1986, she married Pastor (now Bishop) Nathaniel Small, Sr., becoming stepmother to four stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and twelve step-great-grandchildren. Her career spans decades of service to children and families, beginning at Greenbriar Children’s Center in 1987. She has received numerous honors, including recognition from the Office of School Readiness (1998), United Christian Women’s Fellowship (2006), and the National Council of Negro Women (2014). In 2025, she was presented, along with several women, an award for being a Woman of Great Influence among women in the City of Savannah and through the State of Georgia. She was honored with pleasure by Dr. Jackie Gilbert Grant & The Forever His Daughters, Inc. She retired in 2017 after 30 years of dedicated service.

A devoted member of New Salem Community Fellowship Church, which was organized by her husband – a prayer that was answered by the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 1989 – she served as Program Administrator (2000–2023) and now ministers on the Ministerial Staff. She preached her initial sermon in 1995, was ordained in 1996, and traveled to the Holy Land in 1997 with her husband and city ministers – a journey she cherishes. Evangelist Small is active in community and ministry organizations, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Theta Zeta Chapter (former Chaplain), Savannah Interdenominational Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows (former President), Georgia State Association of Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows (former Praise & Worship Leader and Instructor for Praise & Worship), International Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows (Prayer Team), and Lifeline for Children (Chair, 2016–2018).

Her life and ministry are guided by prayer and faith: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.”

My Lifeline To God – Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls of Wisdom: My Lifeline to God is a powerful reflection on how prayer shapes, sustains, and transforms a life. Through honest storytelling and spiritual insight, the author shares how a deep, consistent prayer life became her source of strength through every season-guiding decisions, bringing peace, and drawing her closer to God. These pages invite readers to see prayer not as routine words, but as a true lifeline – a daily conversation with a loving Father who leads, heals, and directs.

Three Key Takeaways

Prayer is a lifeline, not a ritual –  real prayer is relationship, connection, and conversation with God.

God’s timing can be trusted – unanswered or delayed prayers often prepare, protect, and teach us.

Make prayer your first response – seeking God before acting brings clarity, peace, and direction for life’s decisions.
